Gloucester Court

An ever popular, early 20th century, residential development of spacious flats and landscaped gardens, enviably located opposite the Royal Botanic Gardens in the heart of Kew.

Close to Kew Green and the River Thames walk, Gloucester Court combines a beautiful place to live with easy access to the M4, M3, Heathrow Airport and the Rail and Underground networks.

About Us

Gloucester Court is a residential development of 146 flats, built in the 1930’s, in the heart of Kew, Surrey.

Kew village

Kew is in many ways a quintessential English village where life revolves around the cluster of shops on Royal Parade and the village green.

The village still has a selection of independent food stores and coffee shops plus renowned destination restaurants.

Visitors come to Kew from around the world to visit the Royal Botanic Gardens or the National Archive, but many stay to enjoy some time in village life.

For residents, Kew offers a rare combination of living in a village but within easy reach of central London and major transport hubs. Kew station is on the District Line and is just one stop from the National Rail hub at Richmond. Young families can benefit from a choice of six highly regarded primary schools.

More information about Kew Village can be found here.

History

The buildings and grounds you can see today were those planned and developed in the 1930’s on the site of Gloucester House. This was a royal residence built in the 18th century by the Duke of Gloucester, the brother of George III. Read more of the history of Gloucester Court here.

Dintgrade Limited

The Stern empire, that built Gloucester Court, went into bankruptcy in 1974 and a group of pioneering residents set up an association to buy the whole freehold property.

Today the Estate maintains the principles set up then: each flat has an equal share of ownership in Dintgrade and the company is led by a Board of Directors elected from those shareholders. There is an Estate Office and workshop by the main gates and the buildings and grounds are maintained by a professional team.

Residents appreciate living as part of a friendly community, where the estate is run by the owners for the benefit of the owners and residents. Read more about Dintgrade Limited here.

House Rules

To maintain the quality of life enjoyed at Gloucester Court, all Lease and Tenancy Agreements require residents to adhere to the House Rules. You can download this document here.

The Board of Directors have introduced a new Renovations Process to ensure that the integrity and high quality of our buildings are protected and alterations cause the minimum disturbance to other residents.

We invite all Leaseholders planning any works in their flat to consult the new Renovations Process. You can download this document here.

Parking and Garages

To ensure that Gloucester Court remains safe and secure, there are Parking Regulations and Controls with associated fees. All potential residents are advised to read these documents thoroughly in order to fully understand the restrictions in place and the fees payable.

Parking permits, visitor permits, and a limited number of garages are available for residents. Contractor Parking permits are available for contractors. There are also parking areas for motorbikes and storage for cycles, prams and pushchairs.

Information on Parking Regulations and Fees payable is available for download here.
